World Cruises

Is Seeing The World By Cruise Worth It?

When it comes to people’s lists of things that they dream of doing during their lifetime, you will probably find travelling all over the world quite high on a significant number of lists. There are so many countries out there just waiting to be visited. Finding the time and the money for all those costly flights, however, can be a difficult task for many. Cruising offers a very real alternative when it comes to seeing the world and travelling between each destination is certainly more relaxing than the hustle and bustle of the airport.

What are your options?

There are a number of different cruise lines, all offering a great selection of different cruise itineraries. Whilst not all of them explore the same places there is plenty of choice to allow you to visit a good selection of different parts of the world using a range of different cruise lines.

With short cruises of just a few days and longer cruises lasting up to two weeks, you will find that these offer a more manageable option for anyone who can only take a couple of weeks of annual leave at a time, and they are much kinder to your finances as well.

A good place to start, and particularly if the idea of cruises feels a little overwhelming, is by speaking to an independent company like us who specialise in all types of cruises from some of the top cruise companies. Our specialist advisors will be able to give you unbiased information that will help you to choose the right cruise, or cruises, to see as many of the destinations you want to as possible.

Sample cruise itineraries

If you need just a little more to convince you then why not take a look at the following sample cruise itineraries which are sure to whet your appetite.

Caribbean

P&O runs a fantastic 14-night cruise around the Caribbean that gives travellers the chance to really explore some of the islands. Setting sail from Southampton, day 5 sees the cruise ship arriving in Tenerife off the coast of Spain for its first opportunity to explore. From Tenerife, the ship will spend several days at sea allowing for plenty of relaxation and soaking up the cruise atmosphere before spending a day each at Sint Maarten, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Castries in St. Lucia and then heading to its last port, Bridgetown in Barbados.

Europe

If you fancy staying a little closer to home then a 14-day, again run by P&O might be more your thing. Sailing from Santa Cruz de Tenerife the ship will dock in Fuerteventura and Santa Cruz de La Palma before spending day 5 at sea. The next stop on the list is Portugal, before you’ll begin heading back to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. As it tours the coast of Spain it visits Madeira, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, and Lanzarote before heading back to Santa Cruz de Tenerife on its final day.
